Ahmed Mater's first UK solo exhibition was held in the Vinyl Factory Gallery below a record shop in the heart of London’s Soho.

Ahmed Mater at Vinyl Factory included video installations, paintings, neon work and lightboxes, alongside a specially commissioned shop featuring a range of bespoke Yellow Cow branded merchandise.

The exhibition also marked the launch of Mater's first monograph published internationally by Booth-Clibborn Editions withcontributions by Venetia Porter, Linda Komaroff, Tim Mackintosh-Smith, Ahmed Al-Omran, Aarnout Helb, Ashraf Fayadh and Stephen Stapleton.

A boy stands on the roof of his old traditional house in a small village in south-eastern Saudi Arabian. One night, he raises his television’s antenna to the sky… searching for a signal from beyond the borders with Yemen, or from Sudan via the Red Sea.
